The practice of colon hydrotherapy dates as far back as the ancient Egyptians and has been used in many cultures all over the world throughout time. The goal of colon hydrotherapy is to help aid the body in opening the natural pathways of elimination. This is achieved through the introduction of temperature-regulated, filtered water into the large intestine for the purpose of removing accumulated waste and toxins. It has been estimated that the average person can have anywhere from 3-10 lbs of impacted fecal matter in their gut. Through a series of slow fills and releases colon hydrotherapy can help to clear out some of this old material. Many health care practitioners include colonics as part of a combined treatment for yeast infections (Candida), constipation, autoimmune disease, Lyme, parasites, allergies, toxic metals, weight loss, liver problems, and more.
Colon Hydrotherapy Preparation
Ideally do not eat at least 3 hours prior to your appointment
Please be very well hydrated. Especially in the days leading up to your session. Ideally you want to consume at least half your body weight in ounces or more daily. The more hydrated the better!
Everyone approaches their personal path to cleansing differently. For some this may include fasting, juice cleansing, an elimination diet and or the addition of herbs and supplements. For others the addition of colon hydrotherapy is the only change they wish to make. No matter what cleansing path you choose clearing the colon is the most important first step. Our colon is the main exit transit out of the body. All of our other detoxification systems rely on this channel. If the colon is not clear prior to a cleansing / detox process then many of these toxins will not be able to effectively leave the body. Instead they can end up reabsorbed back into the blood stream through the process of autointoxication. Autointoxication is largely responsible for those “flu like” symptoms many people experience when cleansing. Allow colonics to support your system and potentially help prevent autointoxication.

Colon Hydrotherapy Aftercare
More often than not people find they feel really good after a session.
However, sometimes you can find yourself feeling tired or sluggish. Unless you are fasting we encourage that you eat after your treatment. Many times on the occasions where someone finds themselves feeling sluggish as soon as you eat its like refilling the gas tank and energy is restored. After your session it is best to eat gentle, easy to digest foods for the remainder of the day. Try to stay away from raw, gas producing or trigger foods as these foods have a tendency to be extra gas producing after a colonic. Avoid alcohol.
After cleansing, listen to your body and allow it the time it needs to rest and relax if that is what it is asking for. This way, your body can focus on assimilation and healing. Probiotics can be beneficial, especially after colonics. During a colonic, some of the good bacteria, along with the bad, may be eliminated from your colon. Probiotics have the potential to re-inoculate your system with the good bacteria that makes for ideal gut health. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir or probiotic capsules are all good options. It is fine to carry on with your normal daily plans or to return to work. Everyone’s body is different. Every session is different, in how the body responds to it, may be different as well. We encourage you to be loving to yourself in the days that follow and always.
